The latest MacUpdate Bundle is just an insanely good deal. For $50, you get Parallels, 1Password, App Tamer, Divvy, TechTool Pro 5, Civilization IV, DVDRemaster Pro 7, and a handful of others. This is actually one of the best bundles I’ve seen in a while: the Windows VM machine Parallels and the incredible password manager 1Password are indispensable on my Mac, while App Tamer helps stretch my MacBook Air’s battery to iPad-like levels, and Civilization IV remains the best iteration of Sid Meier’s classic strategy game. Get get get!

This offer includes TechTool 5. But TechTool 6 is out now. This is like buying Snow Leopard on sale now with Lion coming out in the next few months.

CIv 5 is out as well……..

Anybody know if this available for those of us in the UK, and how much it translates to?

That’s how it works though. All the software is either out of date or soon to be. I nabbed last year’s package for TechTool as well… also version 5. Which turns out, was incompatible with Snow Leopard. Something that should have been made clear, but was not.

There was another package in which the software was fine for two months, and all of a sudden there was a “this version is no longer being supported, you have to buy the latest version for any sorts of support.”Hence why I avoid said bundles like the plague.

Beware, when purchasing this MacUpdate bundle:

    – not all software is current version
    – MacUpdate signs you up for an auto-renewing subscription

I bought this bundle ands ended up with an updated version of SpringCleaning but can’t activate it because there is no serial number. I am getting a runaround between MacUpdate and SmithMicro.
