For years Keychron made its bones on good mechanical keyboards. Now it’s jumping into the scissor-switch game with a pair of Keychron ultra-slim keyboards that are direct Magic Keyboard competitors.
They looks the part, include solid features and beat Apple on price by a mile.
B1 Pro and B6 Pro Keychron ultra-slim keyboards
Keychron’s two new slim keyboards look very similar to Apple’s Magic Keyboards, in full and mini sizes, but Keychron’s are much cheaper — well under half the cost. Magic Keyboards cost up to $129 without Touch ID and up to $200 with it, while Keychron’s new slim keebs top out at $45.
The B1 Pro is the mini version (no number pad) and the B6 Pro is the full-sized version. And they offer a solid array of features, listed below, including ones Apple doesn’t.
You can get either of the keebs in space gray or ivory white colors, which is also very Apple.
Of course, since these new keyboards aren’t Apple products, so you don’t get Touch ID. But, unlike with Magic Keyboards, you can enjoy very long battery life, a USB-C connector for charging and wired use, and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity.
