Launched today into the App store, A Thug In Time promises dual-stick shooter action on the go across 65 levels, 35 weapon types, 20 unique enemies, and eight mini-bosses to blast through.
You’ll need to survive through various times in history, including the Wild West, 1930s Chicago, and the Viking Age, decapitating, freezing, burning, and riddling with bullets all who get in your way. There are in-game power ups, including the fire bomb, the freeze bomb, and the cutter blades to slice and dice the way to victory.
You’ll play as Kai, a chosen time traveler who must collect time crystals that have been scattered throughout history to save humanity from destruction in the future.
The team wasn’t satisfied with producing specific animations for enemies when they die, but rather created a procedural, physics-based system that will lead to unique deaths. Whoo hoo!
“From the moment I shot a circular saw blade that sent a gangster’s decapitated head into a dumpster, I knew we had something special,” said CEO of Destructamobile, Athanasios Ikonomou in a press release. “A Thug in Time is a dark cartoon world filled with hysterical violence and pure over-the-top mayhem. Gamers will keep coming back to time travel for the next chance to pepper Vikings’ bodies with laser fire until their corpses are flying through the air and stuck in trees.”
A Thug In Time is available now as a free universal app in the App Store, as well as on Google Play.
