Jobs would’ve despised this BlackBerry-inspired iPhone concept

Why Salesforce chief gave up AppStore.com for Apple
Yep, I somehow don't see this concept meeting with Steve's approval.

The Apple-watching world just about blew a gasket when the Apple Pencil was first announced for the iPad, given Steve Jobs’ famous assessment that, “If you see a stylus, [Apple engineers] blew it!”

With that in mind, how would people react if the next iPhone went again Jobs’ wishes by taking a note out of BlackBerry’s playbook and included a physical keyboard as part of the handset? Not too well, we’re guessing, but you can make up your own mind about whether or not it would be a good thing or not by checking out the below concept video.

(Hint: it isn’t a good thing.)

While the chances of Apple incorporating a physical keyboard into a future iPhone are pretty much nil, we do know that Apple has at least investigated physical iPhone accessories being built into future handsets — most notably a patent for a pop-out joystick under the Home button — although I don’t expect us to see those any time soon, either.

Would you like to see Apple turn its next iPhone into a quasi-BlackBerry? And why not? Leave your comments below.

I am a huge apple fan , used a Mac mini, apples i pod touch as well as nano, one thing i am really not able to buy into is this touch phone, yeah i have a BB handset. just don’t like this touch concept at all for texting, whatsapp and stuff.

BB keyboard is purely designed for English. For most Asian language input methods you’ll need 40+ keys. Even for phonetic transcribing you’ll still need extra keys other than alphabet for tones. Just check the sales number of smart phones in China and India and you’ll see why BB keyboard is doomed to fail.

I think physica buttons on a handheld device is a big fail.
As u point out, so many cultures over the world uses something else than the latin alfabet…

Ah, no. Thank God for the BlackBerry Passport. Let’s leave keyboards to the professionals. ie: BlackBerry

While we don’t really know if Steve Jobs would despise anything here, we do know he was one to change his mind and opinion on a dime.

What he said was that you should not need anything else than your fingers to handle the iPad/iPhone.
If you want to DRAW on it, your fingers are too clumsy. Therefore they have created a Pen

As easy as that – you know this. Anyway you try to pull cheap points.

This is pretty much the worst. The animation of the keyboard extending, while the physical screen somehow gets smaller was laughable. Or have they cooked up some magical shrinking screen too?
