Apple TV+ reportedly confirmed that it’s producing Bad Blood, a film that will have mega-star Jennifer Lawrence portray Elizabeth Holmes, who is currently on trial for fraud committed as the head of medical tech startup Theranos.
It seems appropriate that Apple TV+ should produce the film, as Holmes modeled herself after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. All the way to the black turtleneck.
Bad Blood will follow the rise and fall of Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes
Although Apple didn’t put out a press release, it confirmed to Deadline that it’s backing the film. Bad Blood.
It’s an adaptation of John Carreyrou’s book, Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Start Up. Adam McKay is reportedly writing the script and will direct the film.

It will tell the story of how Elizabeth Holmes founded Theranos with the goal of revolutionizing healthcare with a machine that could detect multiple diseases from a drop of blood. She took the company public and was a Silicon Valley celebrity until WSJ reporter Carreyrou revealed that the technology didn’t work.
The Apple TV+ version of Bad Blood is likely not coming for quite some time. For one thing, Holmes’ trial is still going on. For another, Lawrence is currently very pregnant.
Apple TV+ is a streaming video service that costs $4.99 a month and offers dramas, thrillers, comedies, sci-fi, documentaries and more.
