iPhone Citizen Journalism App Seeks Oslo Bombing Pics

iPhone citizen journalism app OneNews is looking for photos from people on the scene of the Oslo bombings to sell to news organizations.

One of the first pics out of Oslo looks like a phone cam surfaced on Google Plus and networks like the BBC have been making use of eyewitness video.

OneNews, a Miami-based startup still in beta, intros itself with a video showing various handsome young people talking about “the most scandalous thing” they witnessed at local bars, etc.

But two hours ago they announced over Twitter that they are seeking a different kind of news: “Are you in Oslo and did you see what happened? Use our free app to upload images to sell to media!”

The cheery shoutout may ruffle a few feathers — there are two confirmed deaths in the bombings so far — but it is bound to become one of many as citizen journalism apps branch out.

First-gen apps for citizen journos were all linked to news networks. Now other startups, notably OneNews competitors such as Meporter, offer to help people on the scene sell their eyewitness material to news networks.

I hopefully, they will wait the time when the psychos who needthe money, intends to begin to explode bombs on the streets of American cities that would get  content for sale. Somewhere in Miami, closer to the office OneNews.

It’s simple – if the content will demand expensive, people will bea bomb blast that would make the content.
    They understand it or not?

The usual idea is that you would use NFC to set up the link between the two devices and then do an automatic hand over to a different protocol for doing the actual transfer of data – eg Bluetooth, iphone 5
