iPhone 6 still draws crowds on weekend No. 2

The iPhone 6 is big. And not just in terms of size, either.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus may have been available to buy for a week now in the U.S. and other primary markets, but it’s still a hot enough ticket that it’s causing major lines this weekend, as eager shoppers try to grab Apple’s next-gen handsets.

In various cities around the world, a constant queue could be seen for much of the weekend, with many customers having to wait well over an hour.

The situation was even more pronounced in the secondary Apple markets, which only received the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus at the end of last week. In places like Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, long lines were in full effect. Meanwhile, around 600 people lined up outside Amsterdam’s Apple Store, while 400 customers were at the Barcelona store.

In Taiwan, Apple fans were queuing up to 35 hours to get their hands on the devices.

Given that the first-weekend iPhone hit a record-smashing 10 million-plus it will be interesting to see the first week’s cumulative sales tally. That’s a number we should get early this week.

Apple has said the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be available in 115 countries by the end of 2015.

Below are a smattering of the tweets we picked up about iPhone 6 weekend No. 2. What were the queues like in your neck of the woods?

Wall Street investors Apple isn’t selling enough iPhones so Apple’s share price may still go down. Apple is running into a no-win situation with a market cap of around $600 billion. What’s funny is how Microsoft’s share price is still climbing and they’re really not selling anywhere close to what Apple is selling. It’s called stock market injustice.

I finally broke down and went to the Apple store in downtown SF to see the 6+ in person. I had already ordered it, get it on Thursday, but wanted to see anyway. I think I made a good decision. A really beautiful gadget. Me and my daughter stood there for twenty minutes each playing with a 6+. I wanted to just pop it i my pocket to see if it fit, but there was a cop right behind me. No complaints, but the thing is terribly slick and hard to hold onto if you have dry hands. Not having case on this phone is a fools rush to the repair shop. Like all my iPhones putting on the bumper case is the first thing I do. I realize I spend way too much time looking at the glowing screen. This will make my addiction even worse and more pleasurable.

Poor Samsung, LG, HTC. They tried their best to get these people from showing up with all this bending propaganda. Suck on a Popsicle losers.

Lol. They really did try hard. But we owe thanks to them for the free marketing publicity. Samsung will always be a cheap brand with cheap tactics. Whats funny is that HTC got the hit back. According to Consumer Reports, HTC One is the most bendable phone.
