Invasion season 3 is the most popular show on Apple TV+ and among the most watched series on any streaming service, according to a company that tracks ratings. New episodes resumed last week for the epic alien onslaught.
Speaking of sci-fi, the Apple TV+ adaptation of Foundation also found a large audience last week.
From deep space to Prime Time: Invasion conquers Apple TV+
It makes sense that a computer maker could produce top-quality science fiction, and Apple TV+ keeps delivering in this category.
Invasion is a sweeping sci-fi drama that reimagines the classic alien invasion story through an intimate, character-driven lens. Rather than focusing solely on battles with extraterrestrials, the series follows multiple perspectives across the globe — from a small-town sheriff in America to a family in rural England, a soldier in Afghanistan, and a scientist in Japan — as they grapple with the sudden and mysterious arrival of a hostile alien force.
It’s a strategy that works, as Invasion season 3 is off to a start after the August 22 premiere. Movie and TV search engine JustWatch put the show in the No. 6 slot of its ratings list of the 10 most popular series in the U.S. on streaming services for the week of August 18 through August 24 (see chart below). Rival service Reelgood put the new series in the No. 8 slot of popular streaming series the week of August 21 through August 27.

Ratings estimates from companies like Reelgood and JustWatch are necessary because streaming services rarely reveal how many people tune in to their offerings.
The first two episodes of Invasion season 3 can be watched now on Apple TV+. The next is scheduled to appear on Friday. Plus, season one and two can be bingewatched.
Foundation season 3 remains a hit sci-fi series
Sci-fi fans have more to enjoy, as Foundation season 3 is also one of the most-watched streaming series.
It tells the story of a band of exiles struggling to save humanity during and after the fall of a Galactic Empire. The Apple TV+ series adapts Isaac Asimov’s groundbreaking novels from the 1940s and 1950s. Bringing seminal novels to the screen is always challenging, but Apple is nailing it.
JustWatch put the series at No. 8 on its chart of most popular streaming series last week (see chart above), while Reelgood says it was the No. 7 most popular series.
The first eight episodes of Foundation season 3 are ready to stream now. The next should appear on Friday.
