Imagine that you had a stick of gum that could be bent into any shape. OK, that part was easy – all you had to do was imagine a normal stick of gum. Now imagine that that stick is weight-bearing, and that it would actually stay in the shape you gave it.
If you were doing it properly, then you just imagined the Gumstick, a rubbery, pose-able stick of gadget goodness.
The Gumstick is designed to be used with any phone, even those huge ones that Samsung loves to make, and by extension it even has limited use with the iPad. The idea is that you bend the Gumstick to make a quick stand for the iPhone, and when you’re done it straightens back out and slides unnoticed into a pocket.
It actually looks ideal, exactly the kind of stand I like: flexible (in every sense) and super simple. It’s even fairly cheap – right now you can pitch into the Kickstarter for as little as $12, with the final price looking like it’ll be around $20.
