The official Foursquare app for iPhone has been updated today to make it easier to see Explore recommendations when you’re out and about. The Explore feature now has its own page within the app, which provides you with a list of nearby places you may wish to visit.

“When you’re walking down the street and looking for a spot to grab a bite, it’s great to be able to find a place quickly. With today’s release, we’ve updated Explore to show you more recommendations on a single screen, so you can easily compare results and make decisions faster,” Foursquare says.

“Just like before, we’ll show you the relevant info to help you decide: you can quickly see the ratings, friends who have been, money-saving specials, and useful insider tips. Tap through on a place to see even more, like directions and menu items.”

Within the Explore screen, you can tap the top menu bar to view the “best” places nearby, and discounts and freebies available in your area. You can also view your saved places, as well as filter for things like food, coffee, nightlife, arts, shopping, and more.

You can download the latest version of Foursquare from the App Store now.

Screenshots and release notes are from the previous version. The new one hasn’t hit the app store yet.
