One of the things highlighted in this week’s Apple Watch early hands-on reviews is that the device’s constant stream of notifications has the potential to drive you nuts.

With rival companies never wanting to miss out on a chance to parody Apple while it’s gaining so much attention, Netflix has taken a shot at Cupertino with its joke ad for an even more distracting wearable: the Netflix Watch, which provides on-the-move access to Netflix’s vast archives.

Check it out below.

Sure, tinkly music and earnest Jony Ive-inspired voiceovers are as old as the hills nowadays, but the ad’s still great: if only because it highlights just how much I’ve suddenly realized I would totally buy a Netflix Watch.

And this is coming from a guy who’s already super-excited about the Apple Watch.

Parody or not, it’s irresponsible to portray someone using a device while driving.

It’s an iPhone strapped to your wrist… I could make a “Netflix Watch” for myself in less then five minutes.
