We’ve been hearing tell that Facebook would be getting a native iPad version forever, but there’s been no official confirmation until now. Well, point your browser here and take a gander at the official Facebook for iPad webpage, complete with a link to the iOS App Store.

Sadly, that link only leads to the iPhone-only Facebook app, but consider this proof that the native iPad will be dropping soon… maybe even this week.

(Thanks, James!)

Why launch this and then not have the app. Shouldn’t you make sure the app is live first?

It really works. After an update of the older iPhone version it didnt’t start correctly. Then i deleted the old version and installed the new one again. Now it works like a charm – in iPad style!

Download the iPhone app on the iPad and you’ll get the native iPad app!  Seems like Facebook hasn’t separated yet when I downloaded.

I had the same issue. I’d suggest everyone who has the iPhone version on their iPad delete it first then download the new iPad version. The app is sweet – I like being able to open image folders then just sweeping the window to dismiss them. Lots of good usage of native iOS gestures.

  19. TheHammerMan says:

    yup, already there…

I got my update on my German account. Perhaps it’s hitting the App Store in North America after midnight? Mine is up and running fine.
