Although we’ve known for some time Amazon will open an Android App Store (a developer site is already available), it wasn’t clear when the service would launch. However, an unintended sneak peak has given rise to speculation the App Store is almost ready to go live.

A German website Wednesday found 50 Android applications listed at an Amazon URL, which quickly disappeared. Among the titles listed were Zenonia, Raging Thunder II, SetCPU, The Moron Test and SwiftKey. Many of the app prices bested Google’s Android Market and some even were exclusive to the Internet bookseller.

The German website Androidnews.de compiled a database of what it found prior to the amazon.com/apps being redirected to amazon.com. Earlier this month, “Angry Birds” developer Rovio said its game will be one of the first apps available at the Amazon store, expected to open within weeks.

I’ve read that Amazon determines the price in their app store and not the developers. Sounds like a hell of a plan.

I like Android but having multiple app markets is a bad idea. This is a little too open for me.

Do you think Amazon got to be Amazon by not knowing how to sale stuff? Think of Amazon as your real estate agent. Sometime home sellers overestimate how much they think they market can bare and price too high or price too low. A real estate agent is there to help them sale their house by pricing it reasonably so everybody make money.

Think of it as when car manufacturers started coming out with different model than the model T car. I am sure everybody was happy driving the model T, but they were just elated when they got a different model and a different color. Human being are program to want choices. If you don’t like choices than it’s something that you need to discuss with your therapist. And remember, the market is always right. The app markets that don’t please the market will die a quick and painless death.
