We start another day of dealing with something for the iPad and iPhone user. First up is a batch of free apps for the iPad, including “Pocket CFO,” a financial study guide for the tablet. Next up is the just-released Netflix app for the iPhone. Previously available only for the iPad, this free application permits you to stream Netflix movies to your handset. We wrap up our highlighted deals with price reductions on many of SEGA’s well-known gaming titles.

Until August 30, the Apple iBookstore offers downloads of almost 100 Kaplan eBooks for iPhone / iPod touch / iPad for free. (In order to view this offer, you need to access the iBookstore via the iBooks app on your device.) That’s the best deal we’ve seen for this collection of study guides.
Still ongoing at Apple, purchase a MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or iMac from the Apple Store for Education and receive an iPod touch 8GB MP3 Player for $0 via a mail-in rebate. (Click on the “Buy a Mac for college, and get a free iPod Touch” banner). This offer is valid only for qualified students, teachers, and staff and expires September 7. Both the system and iPod must appear on the same receipt. Limit one rebate per customer. Note that you will have to create or sign into an Apple ID to fill out your information to receive your rebate.

[With free shipping, that’s the lowest total price we could find by $3, although we saw it for 20 cents less three weeks ago (since expired)]. The screen protector is anti-glare, UV-protecting, and bubble-free. Coupon expires after 800 redemptions. Expect this item to take two to three weeks to arrive.
EverydaySource.com offers the Apple iPhone 3G Privacy Screen Protector for $7.99. Add coupon code “S8SP03” to your cart to cut it to $1.99. (With free shipping, it’s the lowest total price we could find by $2, although we saw it for a buck less in November, since expired.) This screen protector makes your iPhone’s screen look black when viewed from left or right at a 35 degree angle.
