Yeah, I was halfway through my order (after having to wait 15 minutes to get that far) when it booted me.

It’s because they screwed up and it had 2 buttons for At&t LTE instead of 1 for At&t and 1 for verizon.

That’s clearly not true because the store was offline the entire morning without ever actually showing the new ipad until after the keynote address was completed.
i had it to the accessories step on the iPhone app, then it crashed on me and the sticky note came back. boooooooooo.
there was a bug in their ordering system, it had 2 models of LTE, 1 AT&T and the other AT&T.
It was not showing the verizon version.
Tried to order by phone after website died in mid-order. Although it is occasionally possible to get through to the iPad Sales area, your call dies there. Guess they didn’t plan for this?
I was able to order using my Apple Store app on my iPhone… the screen went white when I hit the final order button, but I got e-mail confirmation that my order went through with March 16 delivery date. I accidentally ordered two, but I’ll deal with that later.

Is back on! just got my pre-order in… I was in mid order on my old iPad when the store went down. Got to switch to the web and refresh until I made it through.

Yep. Finally got through to an Apple rep over the phone and they couldn’t place orders either so don’t waste your time calling. Seems their whole system is down. Who would have ever thought there would be a huge demand for pre-orders for the iPad HD?

TIP: you can get through the order process really fast if you access the Apple store from your iPad. I had like 5 browser instances open (IE, Chrome, Safari) on my Windows PC, all trying to get through. Then I tried Safari on my iPad and it was soooo fast, like there was no overload at all! Try it now!!!
FYI: I ordered a black 64GB ATT-LTE model.
Got booted four times right after clicking to check out each time, then got back to my cart and had 4 iPads and 4 apple TV’s in the cart.Â
Who could have imagined this kind of demand?Â
Apparently everyone except Apple….again.Â
Just ridiculous that they can’t spend a little bit of their hundred billion on better servers.

Yes. You will receive it next Friday. Same day it goes on sale in stores. Only way to go!
Sorry people for not being proactive. I called my rep at Apple a month ago and told her to call me as soon as she was able to start ordering. Five minutes after the presentation was over, she called as planned and I ordered my ipad without all the hassles you all went tru from lack of planning.
Learn the lesson for next time.

Why did you need to go through an Apple rep? I just had the vid of Tim Cook up and as soon as he was done…click I ordered. That’s the usual way they operate with preorders.
