Finally, right? After almost four months of availability, the iPad 2 is now available to order online with shipping times of only 3-5 business days. I think we can officially say the iPad 2 supply crisis is over.
That might seem like a long time for the anxious, but to put 3-5 business days in perspective, that’s how long shipping times mere seconds after the order page went up on March 11th. For most of the last few months, shipping times have been weeks or more.
Basically, Apple’s now getting iPad 2s to people as quick as they can. They’re still shipping them directly from the factory in China. The next step is for Apple to build up a warehouse over in the States of iPads to ship directly to consumers. When that happens, expect iPad 2 shipping times to go down to 2-3 business days or less.

Haha. I ordered mine two weeks back, and it’s only just shipped today. The day it changed to 3-5 business days. :P Now, the place where they have shipped it to is 11 miles away, and Apple are predicting it to take 11 days max. to get here…? If that were the case, then it would be effectively travelling at 0.0416666667 mph. That’s slow.
It’s odd because when I replaced my iPad 2 due to light leakage issues, I waited a week to get the box and ship it out, another week of waiting for Apple to call me. Then when they called me they said, you can wait 2-3 weeks for a black iPad 2, or 3-5 business days for a white version. Naturally I waited for the black one because I’m not a pansy, but thats not the point. Ever since Apple said that to me I’ve wondered how popular the white units have actually been.

???? The issue isn’t having a warehouse. It was how fast they could build the silly things. So the next step is another factory full of folks building them and more factories at all the component makers. Not a warehouse
I ordered my 32GB WiFi only iPad 2 at the end of May, and received it on the 5th day. The only reason it took that long was shipping from HK (to the UK)
