Unlike rival item trackers, the Chipolo Pop doesn’t force you to choose between iPhone and Android. You can find your misplaced keys or cat with either Apple’s Find My network or Google’s Find My Device.
Plus, the Bluetooth tracker tag comes in a range of colors.
Find your stuff with colorful Chipolo Pop
Back in 2021, Chipolo brought out the One Spot, a tracker tag that an iPhone could find. This came only in black, while the company also made separate versions compatible with Android. Its new Pop model addresses the limitations of the past.
“The Chipolo Pop is the embodiment of our customers’ favourite Chipolo attributes,” said Domen Barovic, Co-founder and CDO at Chipolo. “Countless users expressed their desire for vibrant colours while others missed having access to certain features within the Chipolo app. Pop therefore merges the best of our past — bringing colours, compatibility and our most popular features into a product everyone can love.”
Color options include blue, black, green, red, white and yellow. And the design features a loop so it’s easy to attach to the items you want to track.
Pop connects to devices over Bluetooth, and Chipolo promises the tag has a 300ft (90m) range. It runs off a replaceable battery.
Apple Find My network or Google’s Find My Device
The new tracker tag can be set up so that it’s part of Apple’s Find My network. Open the Find My app and the device appears on a map. If it’s nearby, press a button to set off an audible alarm on the remote device — this rings at 120db. Or get a warning on an iPhone when the device gets left behind.
Alternatively, the Chipolo Pop can be set up with Google’s Find My Device service and located with an Android.
While the same tag can be set up with either the iPhone or the Android system, it’s important to note that it cannot do both simultaneously. Still, that’s an improvement from rival trackers that require the user to buy separate iPhone- and Android-compatible models.
