Check For iCloud Outages with Apple’s Handy Status Page

By

iCloud-iPhone

Apple has been on a software rollout spree lately. iCloud and iOS 5 were both released to the public this past Wednesday alongside a slew of other app releases and updates.

Some of this week’s releases have also caused significant problems for many consumers. Certain iCloud customers have been experiencing faulty connectivity since the product’s launch two days ago. Luckily, Apple offers a way to check iCloud’s status from the web.

The iCloud status page on Apple’s support site shows you the service’s current connectivity status at all times. You can also view a list of recent status updates from Apple along with the reported problem for that timeframe.

This is a handy page for troubleshooting problems with iCloud. If you feel like you’re experiencing a problem with a certain aspect of iCloud, visit Apple’s status page to see if the issue is widespread.

Status page? Maybe. Looking at it, I think they are glossing over some of the issues. Apple’s general approach seems to be that a problem does not exist if they do not acknowledge it.

Every time I log in to iCloud it states that it don’t recognise my password and would i like to reset it. Thats with my new iPhone 4s.  iPad is the same.  I reset the password several times and it never recognises the next new password.

Agreed.  I’m having the same issue at Ian above, and many others are.  It’s not the user or their devices…it’s iCloud.  But…the status page says all is well for everyone.  Not quite honest…

    Hardly handy!

Seems it’s only updated daily and right now as I write iCloud is definitely down and out on iCal and mail and everything else is going bonkers trying to connect on my devices. But the status page happily reports ‘All services online’.
Nice to know Apple are happy, but I am definitely not! About as handy as Mobileme.Sorry but no. It’s not a handy page at all.
