The company claims the Baseus Security S2 Outdoor Camera 4K is the world’s first solar-powered security camera with automatic sun-tracking capabilities. Unlike traditional solar panels that remain fixed in one position, this camera’s solar panel rotates along with the sunlight, maximizing energy absorption throughout the day.
This intelligent tracking system uses built-in sensors to detect sunlight direction and automatically adjusts the panel’s position to maintain optimal charging. The result is nearly twice the charging speed compared to stationary solar panels, powering the camera’s substantial 7,800mAh battery for true 24/7 operation, Baseus said.

The S2 camera delivers impressive technical specifications. The device captures footage in 4K Ultra HD with 8MP resolution and includes 8x digital zoom capable of identifying details up to 39 feet away. Night vision capabilities extend to full-color recording with a 100LM spotlight and 145-degree field of view.
Smart detection goes beyond basic motion sensing with dual PIR and radar technology. It reduces false alarms by 99%, Baseus said. The camera integrates with Alexa and Google Home. That lets users control the device alongside their existing smart home setup. Though the camera works with iOS/iPhone, it doesn’t natively integrate with HomeKit.

For privacy-conscious Apple users, the S2 offers local storage up to 512GB via microSD card with no monthly subscription fees required. Data protection includes AES and RSA dual encryption. That helps ensure surveillance footage remains secure.
