Two innovative new outdoor cameras could change how homeowners approach property surveillance, Baseus said Sunday. The standout feature? The more advanced Baseus Security S2 Outdoor Camera 4K packs a small solar panel on top that actually moves to follow the sun throughout the day, keeping the cameras charged. And the budget-friendly new Baseus Security S1 Lite 2K model uses solar charging, too.
Baseus Security S2 Outdoor Camera 4K
This outdoor wireless solar security actually tracks the sun to stay charged. It features radar+PIR detection, AI face recognition, auto sunlight tracking, color night vision and IP67 waterproofing.
- Solar panel track's sun's path for charging
- Clear 4K resolution
- Built for extreme outdoor conditions
- Radar and PIR detection
- Not a budget option
The company claims the Baseus Security S2 Outdoor Camera 4K is the world’s first solar-powered security camera with automatic sun-tracking capabilities. Unlike traditional solar panels that remain fixed in one position, this camera’s solar panel rotates along with the sunlight, maximizing energy absorption throughout the day.
This intelligent tracking system uses built-in sensors to detect sunlight direction and automatically adjusts the panel’s position to maintain optimal charging. The result is nearly twice the charging speed compared to stationary solar panels, powering the camera’s substantial 7,800mAh battery for true 24/7 operation, Baseus said.
Advanced security features for Apple ecosystem users
The S2 camera delivers impressive technical specifications. The device captures footage in 4K Ultra HD with 8MP resolution and includes 8x digital zoom capable of identifying details up to 39 feet away. Night vision capabilities extend to full-color recording with a 100LM spotlight and 145-degree field of view.
Smart detection goes beyond basic motion sensing with dual PIR and radar technology. It reduces false alarms by 99%, Baseus said. The camera integrates with Alexa and Google Home. That lets users control the device alongside their existing smart home setup. Though the camera works with iOS/iPhone, it doesn’t natively integrate with HomeKit.
Privacy-focused storage and connectivity
For privacy-conscious Apple users, the S2 offers local storage up to 512GB via microSD card with no monthly subscription fees required. Data protection includes AES and RSA dual encryption. That helps ensure surveillance footage remains secure.
The companion Baseus Security app provides full remote control, live streaming and instant notifications directly to your iPhone.
Weather-resistant design and easy installation
The affordable S1 Lite solar security camera features 2K QHD resolution, continuous power, color night vision, AI human detection and IP67 waterproofing.
- Solar panel keeps it charged
- AI human detection
- Color night vision
- 2K QHD isn't highest resolution
Built for durability, both cameras feature IP67 waterproof ratings and operate in extreme temperatures from -20°C to 50°C. The wireless design enables installation in under five minutes without professional assistance.
The S2 is currently available for preorder at $199.99 $129.99. And you can get the more budget-friendly S1 Lite 2K model for $79.99 $59.99. Both cameras are available through Amazon.
