If you’ve been waiting to get your Ash Ketchum or, gasp, even Team Rocket on, you’ll be pleased to know that Pokémon GO, a.k.a. the first original Pokémon game for mobile, is rolling out around the world.
Already live in the App Store in Australia, New Zealand, and a few other territories, the augmented game sends players on a scavenger hunt in which they must track down Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise and the like by following a real-world map.
Yep, it’s basically geocaching with Pokémon, and it looks all the better for it. The game is free with micro transactions, with the possible addition of a $35 optional accessory, which vibrates when a catchable Pokémon is nearby.
As someone who lost countless hours Pokémon games back in the Game Boy era, I’m really excited to get my hands on this title as soon as possible. So watch this space for a review.
