The writer, director and showrunner of Defending Jacob reportedly agreed to a long-term deal to make additional shows for Apple TV+. Their first collaboration went so well that Mark Bomback signed a exclusive agreement with Apple.

Bomback did well for Apple TV+

Defending Jacob ranks among the two fastest-growing series premieres for the fledgling streaming network. It did fairly well with critics, and even better with audiences, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

And Bomback had a long history as a screenwriter even before that. He penned two Planet of the Apes movies, The Wolverine for Marvel, and more than a dozen other movies.

Apple hopes he can repeat this earlier success with additional shows exclusively for its subscribers, according to Deadline.

This is just the latest deal the iPhone maker signed to bring content to TV+. It also made agreements with big names in Hollywood like Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott and Sophia Coppola.
