Newly added soccer tournaments, smoother navigation among favorites and game-broadcast information come to the Apple Sports app in update 2.4, the iPhone giant said Monday. Each of the updates should help sports fans follow their favorite teams and leagues a little more easily.
Apple Sports app version 2.4 updates: More soccer, smoother navigation and national-broadcast information
Apple’s free Sports app for iPhone launched in early 2024, offering a simple way for fans to follow scores and stats from their favorite teams and leagues without much distraction. Since then it has added teams, leagues and features pretty steadily. In September 2024 it brought scores to iPhone’s Lock Screen. And ahead of the most-recent football season, it bolstered play-by-play tracking and other features.
Now it adds more soccer tournaments for fans of international football — great news for those who struggle to keep track of big tournaments like the FA Cup every year. Rright and left swiping navigation lets you speed through your favorite teams so you always know what’s going on. And broadcast information now appears on game pages for nationally televised games. See the version 2.4 release notes below.
