Apple no longer accepts orders for certain high-end Mac mini and Mac Studio models. As of Sunday, the company’s online store lists the computers as “currently unavailable.”
This comes after delivery times for most Mac mini and Mac Studio models slipped to a few months.
Apple stops selling high-end Mac mini and Mac Studio models
The Mac Studio and M4 Mac mini became popular in the AI community in recent months for their ability to run large language models and agentic AIs like OpenClaw smoothly. This led to a surge in demand for these Apple computers, especially for high-end variants with 48GB of memory or more.
The shipping times of most models with 64GB RAM or higher ran from 10 to 12 weeks at the time. Some stretched from up to six months. It appeared Apple was either struggling to keep up with demand or gearing up to refresh the machines with M5 processors.
Now, a week later, Apple no longer lists these models for online sale. This essentially means that Apple no longer plans to accept orders for these configurations in the foreseeable future.
While the base Mac mini and Mac Studio models remain available, their delivery times also run into a few weeks.
RAM-ageddon or M5 Mac Studio and Mac mini incoming?
Apple could be gearing up to unveil the M5 Mac Studio and M5 Mac mini within the next few weeks. Or it simply might not have enough DRAM inventory to meet the increased demand for its desktop Macs.
Apple could have continued accepting orders, shipping these models months later, as it has done in the last few weeks. But it likely chose to pull them entirely to make way for the upcoming M5 refresh, which could bring higher prices to the in-demand computers.

I just went to the apple page and the Mac mini’s still listed. 4/13/26 20:18 Post
Go to the US Apple Store online, add a Mac mini to your cart, configure it with 64GB of RAM and you’ll get a note that it is “Currently Unavailable.”
I was able to configure a Mac mini with an M4 Pro Chip, 14-core/20-core GPU, and 64GB of RAM, and it did not alert me of any unavailability.
Interesting, because that’s not my experience. That same page also tells shoppers when the delivery will be. How long were you told that the wait would be before the delivery arrived?
