Apple Music celebrates its 10th anniversary by opening an ambitious new creative music facility in Los Angeles, in addition to offering special programming on Apple Music Radio, the iPhone giant said Monday. The new studio signals the streaming service’s commitment to supporting artists and expanding beyond traditional music streaming.

“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head. “With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artists to create, connect and share their vision.”

Apple Music 10th anniversary: New creative campus designed for the modern music industry

These 10th anniversary Apple Music doings come on the heels of Apple Podcasts marking 20 years of existence. Apple Music‘s new Los Angeles studio isn’t just another recording space — it’s a comprehensive creative ecosystem spanning three stories and over 15,000 square feet, Apple said. The iPhone giant equips the facility with cutting-edge technology that reflects the company’s broader push into Spatial Audio and immersive sound experiences.

The centerpiece includes two advanced radio studios featuring immersive Spatial Audio playback systems. The spaces feature adaptable configurations for everything from live interviews to impromptu performances. Artists will also have access to a 4,000-square-foot soundstage designed for live performances, multicamera shoots, fan events and screenings.

As Apple Music enters its second decade, this Los Angeles studio complex seems to signal the company’s continued investment in the music industry’s creative infrastructure. It may new standards for how technology companies support artists in an increasingly digital music landscape.

Emphasis on Spatial Audio

Perhaps most notably for Apple’s audio ambitions, the facility includes a dedicated Spatial Audio mixing room outfitted with a professional 9.2.4 PMC speaker system. This specialized setup allows artists and producers to create the kind of next-generation audio experiences that Apple has been promoting across its devices and services.

The facility rounds out its offerings with practical amenities including a photo and social media lab, edit room, green room for real-time content creation and private isolation booths for songwriting, podcasting and intimate interviews. Apple has even included nostalgic touches like “The A-List Corridor” and “Archive Corridor,” showcasing memorable moments from Apple Music’s decade-long history.

This Los Angeles studio serves as the anchor for Apple Music’s expanding global presence. The company already operates creative hubs in major music markets including New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris and Nashville. And it plans additional studios in the future. This network approach allows Apple to maintain local connections in key music scenes while providing consistent, high-quality facilities worldwide.
