Apple has opened the floodgates for developers and released the iOS 5 Gold Master version in the Dev Portal. Following the “Let’s Talk iPhone” event where Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, iOS 5 has reached its final beta stage before its release on October 12th.
If you’re on the last iOS 5 beta, the GM update should now be available as an over-the-air update in Settings can only be installed after a restore in iTunes. You must be a registered developer to legally download and install the iOS 5 beta.
iOS 5 will bring over 200 new features to iOS device users when it is made publicly available next week.

iOS 5 GM can only be installed via iTunes 10.5 beta 7. Pls correct if wrong
I am not able to do an OTA update via the most recent beta. If anyone has a download link please let me know..

iMessage only works on wifi?
it should work on 3G also
Great, let’s see if the unlocks can be readied by then
Both right Beta 7 for Windows Beta 9 for Mac….
you have to download the whole file, it is not possible to do an OTA update.
You must use iTunes 10.5 beta 7 to install iOS 5 GM seed on your devices. iOS 5 GM seed is not available via over the air software update.Be sure to backup your devices using iTunes 10.5 beta 7 or through iCloud backup prior to installing iOS 5 GM seed. After installing iOS 5 GM seed, you can restore your device using either iTunes 10.5 beta 7 or through your iCloud backup.

i’m going to upgrade from beta 7 to this gm release. any drawback encountered so far?
I upgraded via iTunes 10.5 beta 7. No issues.
GPRS and Edge still doesn’t work on my factory unlocked phone that is not connected to an official apple carrier. I’m not sure if this is due to iTunes 10.5 beta 7.
