Well, that’s disappointing: Apple’s killed off TV show rentals, claiming that “iTunes customers have shown they overwhelmingly prefer buying TV shows.” That’s probably true, especially since Apple’s prices aren’t competitive to the likes of a la carte subscription services like Netflix and Hulu Plus. Could this be in preparation for their own streaming TV service, though?

I doubt Apple killed them but studios probably signed a contract for one year and that year is almost up. No one else joined.
So? Most of the world didn’t have this service anyway. Seriously, do you folks *ever* consider that the majority of the worlds population and (most probably) the majority of Apple users are not in the US?

Well I know the tv show producers sure don’t think of it…
If they did they did they wouldn’t make it so hard for Apple and other companies to sell their shows internationally…
I have to wait half a year to a year for tv shows to come over here (Sweden) since they aired in the US and they just won’t let me buy their shows trough for example iTunes…
Meanwhile, I can easily get any episode of any show for free trough less legal means, I’d love to be able to pay them but they won’t let me :p
