Based on changes in taxes and foreign exchange rates, Apple is set to increase the prices of App Store apps in Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey.

In a letter sent out to developers, Apple explained that purchases in the South Korean App Store will now include 10 percent VAT. Apple will pay the VAT it’s collecting for any developers outside of the country, although those based in South Korea will be responsible for paying it themselves.

In terms of subscription renewals, customers with auto-renewable subscriptions for the South African, South Korean, and Turkish App Stores will need to resubscribe. Although the prices are also changing for subscriptions on the Mexican App Store, in this market Apple will instead send an email to subscribers letting them turn the subscription off if they so choose.

Apple is also introducing two new low-price tiers, called “Alternate Tier A” and “Alternate Tier B” for the Indian, Indonesian, Mexican, Russian, South African, and Turkish App Stores. This option is already present on the Chinese App Store.

Increase in prices? Great. Just as I wished…

I’m assuming you mean in Turkey, where the lira has depreciated nearly 40% against the dollar in the last year?

That would mean that you’ve been paying artificially *low* prices since the last price adjustment.
