Someone get Steve Jobs and Jony Ive on the iPhone, because, Houston, we have a problem. An iPhone/iOS design flaw has been uncovered. And by “design flaw,” we mean something so minute that only the folks at Cupertino would cringe.
Try to not scream, but the little arrow that appears when you open a folder on the iPhone is off-centered by one pixel.

Matt Binkowski found this design flaw and posted it on his blog. He says, “I KNEW that stupid triangle underneath the iPhone’s “folder” icon wasn’t centered!”
Looks like the competition just got some fuel for the advertising fire. Imagine: “Blackberry, a smartphone that has justified arrows.” That’s sure to help sell more phones.

Right, I’m buying an android phone.
My iPhone doesn’t look the same anymore…I’m so sad now…
NOOOOOO
We’re doomed oh no :- 0
Weird. Now that I know it’s there, I can see it every time I open a folder now.
I spotted this on a retina display.
” Perfection has one grave defect. It is apt to be dull. “
Quote by Maugham, W. Somerset
Justified is not synonymous with centered.
But the iPad one is OK? Right? Someone please tell me the iPad is not afflicted with this HIDEOUS DEFECT! AAAARRRGGGHHH!!! I did not pay nearly 500 quid for this!
Antennagate! Backlightgate! Pixelgate! Truly, the end times are upon us!
:P
Haha, I was just looking at my folders the other day thinking “hmm… something’s not right here.”
i can’t wait to see an iPhone update that lists “pixels alined on certain graphics…. smartass bloggers…”
I want a refund!
Where’s Naomi Campbell when you need her?!
*Queues Rampage Music*
iphone 5 will have no pixel problem =D or so we dream!
–Brazilian independence day cometh and give me a happy event damn you
Yeah, but that’s a quote from a self-admitted “flawed” man who was famous for writing books about flawed human beings and, you know, their flaws. Hardly surprising he thought that way.
Could it be that is what Apple intend to do, so as to catch someone who may copy their design?
How’s it hangin? A little to the left…

Tinfoil hats! I’ve got your tinfoil hats for sale!
jk
Obviously, everyone will have to return their iPhone for a full refund AND join a class-action lawsuit for loss of use of said iPhone…
Why does this have that [HUMOR] appendage in the title and the tag “funny”? This is a real flaw, the kind Apple prides itself on not making.
I just read a piece (maybe an archived post from here? I don’t remember) about the making of the OS X UI, where it said that after the UI designer who dreamed up the UI for OS X showed mockups of it to Steve, who was blown away, Steve made the UI coders replicate the mockups, pixel for pixel, in working form. Steve scoured the screens of the working copies, comparing them pixel to pixel, with his nose to the glass of the monitors.
He was looking for this kind of thing.
And now that’s all I’ll see anytime I open a folder.
They did something like that once actually — with the original Mac, they added a glyph deep into the system that said “STOLEN FROM APPLE COMPUTER”. It was pretty hard to find, but if you knew how to, you could bring it up.
This was a personal idea of Steve’s. This way, if someone stole the Mac OS, removed the Apple logos and copyright info, and sold it on bootlegged hardware, they could bring them to court, and Steve personally could set their computer on the table, hunt down the glyph, turn the monitor to the judge, and then say “Boom. I rest my case.”

It’s a pretty interesting story.
Fire the CEO!
I totally agree with you. I am going to have to remove all my folders now, this ruined it for me. sadpanda.jpg
I have dashed to run photoshop to see what its like on my iPad 2, and i didnt see same flaw or my photoshop didnt detect it -lol
OMG I think you made Steve resign! :D
you fools! this is intentional. when the image is resized, the sharpness of the arrow is more likely retained. thus, thumbnails look much better. steve has thought everything
Binkowski, you passed the test!
All hail Mr. Matt Binkowski, Apple’s new CEO!
And long live the king!
You SOB! you find this design flaw and SJ is so pissed he leaves apple!
No, it’s left.
LOL!!! Very funny comments!
It also appens in Mac OSX. Maybe its on purpose.
Ah! Evidence of Apple being a Left leaning company!
