Adobe completely redesigned Photoshop’s interface for iPhone‘s smaller screen, creating an intuitive experience that maintains core functionality while optimizing it for touch controls, the company said in a press release. This shift in its mobile strategy brings professional-grade photo editing to the device that millions of photographers already use to capture images.
Whether for quick touch-ups or complex creative projects, Photoshop on iPhone promises to expand the possibilities for mobile creativity. The app requires iOS 17 and is available to download from the App Store starting today.
The iPhone version brings many of Photoshop’s signature capabilities. They include nondestructive editing and support for layers, masks and selections — all reimagined for mobile use. The app is designed to be accessible whether you’re a Photoshop veteran or a newcomer to image editing, Adobe said.

- Lighten and Darken tools for adjusting brightness without affecting hue or saturation.

New subscription option
For users who aren’t already Adobe subscribers but want access to premium features, Adobe has introduced a new Photoshop Mobile and Web plan priced at $7.99 per month or $69.99 per year. This subscription covers Photoshop on iPhone, iPad and web access.
Existing subscribers to Creative Cloud All-Apps, Photoshop-only or Photography bundles will automatically have access to all premium features on iPhone without additional cost.
Cross-platform workflow
One of the highlights of this release is the ability to seamlessly move projects between devices. Users can start editing on their iPhone and continue on iPad or desktop, with Adobe’s cloud syncing keeping projects updated across platforms.
The simultaneous launch of an upgraded web interface for Photoshop further enhances this cross-device workflow, allowing for creative work to continue on virtually any device with a web browser.
While today’s Adobe Photoshop on iPhone release is exclusive to users of Apple’s handsets, Adobe confirmed Photoshop will come to Android devices later this year.
