No they are not. The so called reboot of “Ghostbusters” has train-wreck written all over it.
There has never been, or ever will be, a movie “begging” for a sequel…. ever.
I’d say Terminator did okay. The problem isn’t that sequels exist, it’s that the reason for doing them is so often about an obvious cash-grab, with nowhere new to go.
“Bill Murray’s been the feet-dragging party in bringing a true Ghosbusters reunion to screen.” and don’t forget that pesky Harold Ramis….
District 9
Yes, naturally.
I had a great idea for Dan to do a sequel but he never got back to me. It did not have a all woman cast not saying one of them could be a woman.
ID4: I would say yes. There’s talks that Will Smith won’t be in it but Jeff Goldblum might.
Ghostbusters: Not so much. 1 was good but 2 went down poorly.
Unbreakable: Shaky. It was good on the mystery, but not sure it would rebound in a sequel.
Jumper: I saw it several times and liked it, but don’t think it’ll live up to a sequel.
Robocop: Shaky again. Graphics wise was pretty good. Storytelling somewhat.
Hellboy: I’d have to say hell no. Let him live his retirement. Neither one of his sequels had very good traction.
Mystery Men: While I haven’t seen the original, I think a remake more than a sequel.
Dredd: Kind of. They didn’t have much good traction. Present day everyday society in a future hellhole city. Very little originality or imagination. Every cop riding a motorcycle with machine guns could ride one today versus waiting 50 years. Every city also already has plenty of narcotics, live in overcrowded dwellings called apartments well beyond capacity, and traffic in your local town is horribly built.
Pixar’s Iron Giant: Sure. But let’s add more movies that we’d like Pixar sequels.
– Wall-E: What happened to the little bot, his girlfriend, and all the humans after the ship returned to Earth? Is society improved or gone back to the hell we’re destined for?
– UP: I haven’t seen the original but I’m sure many would like to see UP 2.
Why is this on cult of mac? How is it even remotely apple related?
Mac got used in making the movies? Who cares as long as reading this keeps me from doing the work I am actually paid to do.
Unbreakable: Great movie. Well done. The opening sequence is stunningly powerful. Under appreciated.
Definitely. I rewatch that movie every now and then and am always surprised by how well it pulls off the real world superhero angle.
Unbreakable and Jumper? Are you serious? Worst movies ever (after TF4 and IronMan3 the worst movie winners of all time)
What didn’t you like about Unbreakable?
There was a sequel to Ghostbusters. One of the worst movies ever.
And Harold Ramis is dead.
Jumper did get a sequel. it was called the Tomorrow People on the CW.
