So… you want the silly James Bond again?
It depends what you mean by the silly James Bond. I’ve always defended the silly Roger Moore movies (Live and Let Die through Moonraker) but, no, I don’t think we embrace full-on campiness again. With that being said, the Ian Fleming books were always a bit “silly” in comparison to the more po-faced gritty John le Carré spy novels. Skyfall was near to the perfect balance for me. GoldenEye, too, although the latter is looking a bit dated now. I’m not suggesting pigeons that do double takes (a la Moonraker) or anything, though.
I have always thought Jim Caviezel should be the Bond man, after seeing how excellent he is in “Person of Interest” he would make a GREAT James Bond!!
