iTunes is often called Apple’s worst piece of software. It’s criticized for being a bloated and slow way to manage music and sync iOS devices. This becomes especially apparent if you store a lot of content on your device or have a large iTunes library. iTunes doesn’t have to be so painful to use though. In this video, you’ll see a few ways you can make iTunes speedier and more responsive.

Meh, only place where iTunes is actually slow is the Apps tabs on a iDevice that is plugged in, that page is more or less unusable, the rest is pretty speedy, and I use it on windows.
iTunes definitely isn’t Apples worst software, quicktime player is, plays just a few formats and soooo slow…
All your statements are only remotely true if you’re using a PC!! Point-blank period! Get a Mac, problems solved.
No, iTunes is unusably slow on my Mac as well – specifically the Apps tab! Takes forever to load icons, and beachballs constantly. My guess is that Hampus’ statements are true for anyone with more than just a few apps installed…
Howsabout a summary for those of us who don’t want to watch a video? :)

That sort of defeats the purpose of a video how-to, no?
Great tips thanks! I’m on a mac but wth a 165GB library, this thing was painful. I think turning off live updating on smart playlists is brilliant and made a big difference! Thanks!
