M3 iMac slides to lowest prices yet, $150 off various models
Bringing a big boost in speed but no other major changes aside from Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless transfers, Apple rolled out the M3 iMac in n October 2023. The big leap in performance in the new all-in-ones is thanks to M3 chips, compared to M1 chips in the previous model. But the new desktop machines kept the ultra-slim, all-in-one design with matching Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse in a choice of seven fun colors.
When the machine came out, Apple noted some real-world performance improvements:
- Productivity apps like the Safari browser and Microsoft Excel perform “up to 30 percent faster.”
- Games load and perform faster, with “up to 50% faster frame rates.”
- Photoshop image processing and Final Cut Pro video editing are “up to 2× faster.”
