Where are the iPhone 17 Black Friday deals?
You may be reading this after checking a few retailers for iPhone 17 Black Friday deals and coming up empty. Sorry, shoppers, Black Friday has never been a good time to save on Apple’s newest top-of-the-line handsets.
The reasoning behind retailers offering discounts is to spur interest in products. Consider that the iPhone 17 is a very recent release — it only launched in September. Demand remains so strong that Apple can barely keep up. As proof, order an iPhone 17 Pro Max with 1TB of storage and you’ll have to wait a week for it to be delivered. There’s simply no incentive for Apple, retailers or wireless carriers to offer steep price cuts to try to increase sales.
Which isn’t to say you can’t find deals, but these aren’t simple price cuts. Major U.S. carriers try to entice customers with generous trade-in offers. AT&T offers up $1,100 off the iPhone 17 Pro Max for qualifying trade-ins, for example. But the money comes as a reduction off the monthly service charges spread over years, not a lump sum.
Apple does its best to help. It lists all the iPhone deals currently available from U.S. carriers in one handy location. But again, these are almost all trade-in deals.
Those willing to switch wireless carriers can get significant savings, but that’s true anytime. Scoring a free iPhone by signing a long-term agreement with a carrier isn’t a Black Friday exclusive deal.
Save on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e for Black Friday

Take heart — anyone with an eye on an iPhone 16 series model can definitely find some Black Friday deals. Some of the best of these come at the Apple Store, which offers a gift card up to $75 with an iPhone 16 or 16 Plus purchase. Apple gives a $50 gift card with an iPhone 16e purchase. (Apple also offers gift cards on Macs and iPads on Black Friday weekend.)
But you can also find cash discounts. Best Buy has a new iPhone 16 at $679 — a $19 savings. The retailer offers the iPhone 16e at $549.99 — $49 in savings.
Or maybe go refurb. Amazon Renewed offers an iPhone 16 at $600.99, which is $99 off the cost of a new model. A renewed iPhone 16 Pro Max unit goes for as little as $819 — a steep discount compared to MSRP.
