The iPhone X launch has caused massive lines of to form up outside of Apple stores across the globe, but due to limited supply, many are walking away empty handed.

Apple saw unprecedented demand for the iPhone X when it opened pre-orders last week. Shipping times quickly slipped to five to six weeks, causing fans who didn’t pre-order to line up early in hopes of getting the iPhone X.

Apple is set to unveil its last earnings report of 2017, and it’s expected to be one of the company’s biggest Q4 results ever.

Wall Street analysts are eager to see how many iPhones Apple sold during the quarter, which included a few days of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sales at the end. Apple CEO Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri will be hopping on the call with investors at 2 p.m. Pacific today. Naturally, we’ll be here live-blogging all the action.

Massive iPhone X lines form at Apple Stores worldwide

Fans have begun lining up outside Apple Stores around the world to get their hands on iPhone X. The device makes its official debut tomorrow, and Apple has promised that units will be available for walk-in customers. However, they’re expected to disappear quickly (just like preorders did).

Some lines have already turned chaotic, while latecomers are offering money for precious spots near the front.

Apple fans that purchase the iPhone X will get an extra tree when devices finally start arriving later this week: an exclusive ringtone.

Bundled inside the software for the iPhone X is an all-new ringtone called “Reflection.” The song has a melody that is somewhat similar to the iconic “Marimba” ringtone that launched with the original iPhone.

iMac Pro goes on display at Final Cut Pro event

Apple gave fans an early hands-on preview of the iMac Pro at the Final Cut Pro Creative Summit in Cupertino this weekend.

The new machine is slated to go on sale later this year. Apple demoed the iMac Pro along with Final Cut Pro X 10.4 which packs some big new features.

Apple will make changes to Chicago store to save birds

Apple has agreed to dim the lights of its fancy new Chicago Apple Store during the fall months due to deadly bird strikes.

According to the volunteer group Chicago Bird Collision Monitors, dead birds have been found at the Apple Store ever since it opened earlier this month, due to their propensity for becoming disoriented due to the lights, before crashing into the walls.

Apple retail guru Angela Ahrendts is in Chicago, ahead of the opening of the new long-awaited flagship store Michigan Avenue store on October 20.

Ahrendts shared a photo on Twitter of her with retail staff, with a glimpse of the newly constructed staircase leading down to the store. “Thank you to this wonderful team and the many more who are bringing #AppleMichiganAve to life for our customers this week!” she wrote.

Apple moves a step closer to retail stores in India

It’s been a long time coming, but the chances of an official Apple store in India may have just gotten a whole lot better.

That’s based on the fact that India has just given Chinese smartphone maker Oppo the necessary permission to open its own single brand retail stores. Oppo is the first smartphone brand to be given this opportunity in the world’s third-largest smartphone market. It bodes well for Apple’s chances!

Tim Cook ‘couldn’t be happier’ with iPhone 8 launch

Apple CEO Tim Cook paid a visit to the Apple store in Palo Alto this morning to celebrate the launch of the iPhone 8.

Despite seeing modest lines for the device’s launch around the country, Cook told reporters today he’s “thrilled” with the response to both the iPhone 8 and the Apple Watch Series 3. Many stores across the globe have sold out of the new watch and according to Cook, the iPhone 8 is out of stock in some places too.

Fans queuing for the latest iPhone is something customary for new launches, but according to reports from across the globe, demand isn’t what it has been in previous years.

Interest in the new handset seems to be muted, with Apple stores seeing a fraction of the lines that have greeted previous iPhone launches. At Apple stores in New York City, where typically hundreds of fans are queued up for hours to buy the iPhone, the entire line was gone within the first hour of the store opening.

In its latest rankings of the most powerful women in business, Fortune has placed Angela Ahrendts in the top 20 of influencers, raising her up one spot from last year and putting her ahead of executives at companies like Google, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, and Boeing.

Tim Cook promises employees to work with Congress to help Dreamers

Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out a new letter this morning pledging to help fight for the protection of his employees who are now at risk of being deported.

The letter comes just hours after Donald Trump’s administration revealed plans to officially rescind Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in the next six months. If Trump’s plan goes through, hundreds of Apple employees who are Dreamers could be forced out of the country. In his email, Cook says he’ll work with members of Congress from both parties to ensure that doesn’t happen.

China will get a new Apple store in time for iPhone 8

Apple has announced that it will open its latest China Apple store just in time for this year’s iPhone 8 release.

The new store will be located in Ningbo, a sub-provincial city in northeast Zhejiang. The space that Apple has picked out is in Tianyi Square, a giant retail area covering a massive 350,000 square meters. Tianyi Square has won awards for its design, which makes it the perfect location for design-fixated Apple.

Apple will no longer repair or service your sixth-gen iPod nano

Apple is no longer providing repairs or service for the sixth-generation iPod nano.

The device was added to the company’s list of vintage and obsolete products on August 30, and a memo distributed to Apple stores and Authorized Service Providers confirms that repairs are no longer being carried out … unless you live in California.
