New York City is getting a new Apple store this week, only instead of replicating the iconic Fifth Ave glass cube, this time Apple’s going with a giant triangle.
The new store will be Apple’s second retail location in Brooklyn after the company opened a store in Williamsburg last year. Apple’s glass-sided triangle store opens December 2 and is located down the street from the Atlantic Terminal and Barclays Center.

Apple is quickly catching up with iPhone X demand.
Shipping estimates on its online store have dropped for the first time since the handset was made available to pre-order late last month. New customers are facing a wait of just 2-3 weeks.

A gang of thieves robbed London’s Regent Street Apple Store in a brazen overnight raid. After threatening a security guard with a hammer, the group of 10 robbers took off on mopeds with an assortment of iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches.
The Metropolitan Police were called at 12:45 a.m. Monday, just minutes after the thieves broke into the U.K.’s flagship Apple store. Two iPhone X handsets were recovered at the nearby King’s Cross subway station, but the criminals got away.
Should we call it GreenGate? Photo: Nate Heagy/Twitter
Apple may have a bit of a screen problem with the iPhone X.
It wouldn’t be an iPhone launch without some sort of “Gate” plaguing devices. Even though iPhone X has only been out for a week, it looks like the “Green Line of Death” is set to be this year’s overblown disaster.
Apple is pledging to do more on the diversity front. Photo: Apple
Apple’s new video published this afternoon is a celebration of diversity, but according to a recent government filing, the company still has a long way to go before it can really call itself inclusive.
Over 80% of Apple’s senior ranking officials are white males, based on Apple’s updated Inclusion and Diversity report. Most of the numbers are stagnant compared to 2016, but there are a few spots to be proud of.

The iPhone X launch has caused massive lines of to form up outside of Apple stores across the globe, but due to limited supply, many are walking away empty handed.
Apple saw unprecedented demand for the iPhone X when it opened pre-orders last week. Shipping times quickly slipped to five to six weeks, causing fans who didn’t pre-order to line up early in hopes of getting the iPhone X.

iPhone X will be even harder to obtain in San Francisco today. Three thieves stole more than 300 models worth over $370,000 from a UPS truck parked outside an Apple Store. Those who pre-ordered should still get theirs on time.
Wall Street analysts are eager to see how many iPhones Apple sold during the quarter, which included a few days of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sales at the end. Apple CEO Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri will be hopping on the call with investors at 2 p.m. Pacific today. Naturally, we’ll be here live-blogging all the action.
Fans have begun lining up outside Apple Stores around the world to get their hands on iPhone X. The device makes its official debut tomorrow, and Apple has promised that units will be available for walk-in customers. However, they’re expected to disappear quickly (just like preorders did).
Some lines have already turned chaotic, while latecomers are offering money for precious spots near the front.
Apple fans that purchase the iPhone X will get an extra tree when devices finally start arriving later this week: an exclusive ringtone.
Bundled inside the software for the iPhone X is an all-new ringtone called “Reflection.” The song has a melody that is somewhat similar to the iconic “Marimba” ringtone that launched with the original iPhone.

Apple has agreed to dim the lights of its fancy new Chicago Apple Store during the fall months due to deadly bird strikes.
According to the volunteer group Chicago Bird Collision Monitors, dead birds have been found at the Apple Store ever since it opened earlier this month, due to their propensity for becoming disoriented due to the lights, before crashing into the walls.
Apple has promised that iPhone X will be available to walk-in customers on launch day.
The company encourages fans to “arrive early” to bag their new smartphone. Recent reports have warned that the device will be in severely short supply throughout the rest of 2017.

Ahrendts shared a photo on Twitter of her with retail staff, with a glimpse of the newly constructed staircase leading down to the store. “Thank you to this wonderful team and the many more who are bringing #AppleMichiganAve to life for our customers this week!” she wrote.
It’s been a long time coming, but the chances of an official Apple store in India may have just gotten a whole lot better.
That’s based on the fact that India has just given Chinese smartphone maker Oppo the necessary permission to open its own single brand retail stores. Oppo is the first smartphone brand to be given this opportunity in the world’s third-largest smartphone market. It bodes well for Apple’s chances!

Apple’s new flagship store on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile is set to open next month. To celebrate the beautiful new shop, Apple revealed today that it has partnered with local artists to celebrate the city’s creative roots.
Apple CEO Tim Cook paid a visit to the Apple store in Palo Alto this morning to celebrate the launch of the iPhone 8.
Despite seeing modest lines for the device’s launch around the country, Cook told reporters today he’s “thrilled” with the response to both the iPhone 8 and the Apple Watch Series 3. Many stores across the globe have sold out of the new watch and according to Cook, the iPhone 8 is out of stock in some places too.

The new iPhone 8 isn’t just the most beautiful phone Apple has ever made. It’s also one of the toughest ever.
iPhone 8 buyers have already put the new device through a number of torture tests after it went on sale across the globe this morning. Even though the new design sports glass in the front back, early stress tests have shown its more durable than the iPhone 7 in bend test.

Fans queuing for the latest iPhone is something customary for new launches, but according to reports from across the globe, demand isn’t what it has been in previous years.
Interest in the new handset seems to be muted, with Apple stores seeing a fraction of the lines that have greeted previous iPhone launches. At Apple stores in New York City, where typically hundreds of fans are queued up for hours to buy the iPhone, the entire line was gone within the first hour of the store opening.

Apple’s boss of retail is finally getting some recognition for her large role at the world’s most powerful tech company.
In its latest rankings of the most powerful women in business, Fortune has placed Angela Ahrendts in the top 20 of influencers, raising her up one spot from last year and putting her ahead of executives at companies like Google, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, and Boeing.

Getting your fingers all over the iPhone X’s edge-to-edge super Retina display won’t be easy during 2017.
According to one of the most accurate Apple analysts in the game, the new tech inside the iPhone X will cause the supply of units to be severely constrained. Even though the new device doesn’t go on sale until November, Apple’s going to be facing production shortages for quite some time.

The iPhone 8 is one of the most gorgeous smartphones ever created. And absolutely no one is planning to buy it.
Cult of Macpolled our readers after yesterday’s keynote at the Steve Jobs Theater to gauge interest in iPhone X and its two ugly step-siblings. Over 5,400 potential iPhone buyers responded and it looks like the iPhone X is going to be a mega-hit while iPhone 8 sales may suffer.
