Accessories maker Hyper rolled out new HyperDrive 6-in-1 and 5-in-1 USB-C hubs today to expand what you can do with your 2021 24-inch iMac. And they look pretty good doing it, too.
The two new hubs don’t just add connectivity options with a variety of ports. They also clamp right onto the bottom of your iMac and feature faceplates in seven colors to match your machine.
“We want to empower iMac users with more ports without interrupting the beautiful design of the iMac,” said Daniel Chin, Hyper’s CEO. “We’ve added color matching faceplates so our new hubs will flow seamlessly into the iMac design and maintain the user’s beautiful workspace.”
HyperDrive multi-port hubs: better connectivity
Fremont, California-based Hyper said the new HyperDrive hubs expand the iMac’s capabilities by providing easy access to ports that enable you to transfer data and expand storage with USB-C, USB-A and MicroSD/SD ports. And you can add an external monitor with an HDMI port.
The hubs supplement the 2021 24-inch iMac’s built-in ports. The machine has two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports that support DisplayPort, HDMI and more, plus two USB 3 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet connector and a headphone jack.

The hubs are designed to be an extension of the iMac by securely fitting to the bottom of the device, Hyper said. Seven color-matching faceplates are included to help the hubs blend with the iMac’s design.
A twist-and-clamp system is meant to make installation easy, with no tools required. A soft-touch interior finish on the hardware prevents scratches to the iMac’s surface.
