Exercise your eyes with trailer for Apple TV+ dramedy ‘Physical’

Rose Byrne’s dark comedy Physical just got a release date: June 18. And Apple TV+ also dropped a teaser trailer for the show set during the exercise craze of the 1980s.

Set in San Diego, Physical follows Sheila Rubin (played by Byrne), a quietly tortured, seemingly dutiful housewife supporting her smart but controversial husband’s bid for political office. She finds an unexpected release from her demons through aerobics. At first hooked on the exercise itself, Sheila’s road to success comes when she uses the new technology of videotape to start a revolutionary business.

Rose Byrne is an Australian actress who is perhaps best known for her time on the legal drama series Damages that earned her earned her two Golden Globe nominations and two Primetime Emmy nominations.

In addition to Byrne, the show stars Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel, Della Saba, Lou Taylor Pucci, Paul Sparks and Ashley Liao.

Physical will premier Friday, June 18 on Apple streaming video service. There are 10 episodes on the way.

Apple TV+ plans a big summer 2021

Other series premiering on Apple TV+ in summer 2021 include Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story in June. And the musical comedy Schmigadoon! too. In addition, the second seasons of the mystery series Home Before Dark  and the animated musical comedy Central Park will reach subscribers to the streaming service.

The Apple TV+ adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation premieres in fall 2021.

All these shows, and many more are available to subscribers. The streaming service costs $4.99 a month but also forms a key component of all Apple One subscription bundles.
