Pro-tip-4 iOS 14 makes it easier than ever to keep a tidy Home screen, thanks to the ability to hide Home screen pages and its brilliant new App Library. Here’s how to send new downloads to the App Library automatically so that you don’t have to worry about cleaning up yourself later on.

iOS 14 brings the biggest changes we’ve ever seen to iPhone’s Home screen. It’s more customizable, with awesome new widgets that make useful information available at a glance, and easier to keep clean.

For a really clean look, you’ll want to take full advantage of the new App Drawer. It organizes all your apps for you so that you don’t have to manually sort them into folders. And with a quick tweak, you can make it so that every new download goes to the App Drawer automatically.

Have App Drawer organize your apps in iOS 14

With this feature enabled, new downloads no longer clutter up your Home screen, forcing you to organize them manually later on. They’ll go right into the App Drawer, into the correct category folder, where they’re out of sight but still easy enough to find.

These are the steps to follow to enable automatic sorting:

  1. Open the Settings app on iPhone.
  2. Tap Home Screen.
  3. Under New App Downloads, select App Library Only.

You’re all set. Your Home screen will now remain unchanged, so you won’t have to find homes for new apps after installing them. And if you do decide you want to put a new app on your Home screen later, simply find it in the App Drawer, tap and hold it, then drag it out.

Sadly, the App Drawer isn’t available in iPadOS 14, so you can use the same trick to keep your Home screen clean on iPad.
