Apple is allegedly prepping a set of over-ear wireless headphones that will be part of the AirPods line.
Currently, the company offers headphones in this style under its Beats label. But the upcoming model supposedly reflects a change in strategy.
Say hello to AirPods Studio headphones
The over-ear headphones will go by the name “AirPods Studio,” according to frequent leaker Jon Prosser.
Looks like Apple is sticking with the “AirPods” branding for their new over-ear headphones.

This same source previously indicated that the headphones — code-named B515 — will cost $349. They supposedly will debut in June at Apple’s virtual Worldwide Developers Conference.
The first indication Apple is developing new over-ear headphones came when images of them appeared in leaked iOS 14 code in March.
AirPods Studio, if that is the real name, supposedly will come in two variations. There’ll be a “premium version” and another focused on fitness with a lighter design. Like AirPods Pro, they will be wireless and include active noise cancellation.
… and goodbye to Beats?
Supposedly, these over-ear headphones will be AirPods and not Beats because Apple is killing off that brand. “They’re building up the Apple/AirPods product line — THEN they will phase out Beats in favor of the finished lineup,” said Prosser, who founded YouTube channel Front Page Tech.
The long-time head of Beats recently left Apple, but new Powerbeats headphones launched in mid-March. And updated Powerbeats Pro truly wireless headphones apparently are on the way.
