Jason Momoa was the big star of the first season of See on Apple TV+, but he’s reportedly being joined by Dave Bautista, perhaps best known for playing Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
The casting news comes from Variety, which offers no additional details. It’s not yet clear if Bautista will be a villain or if he’ll be joining sides with Baba Voss (Momoa) in his efforts to change the world.
The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which a virus has long since eradicated sight. The very idea of being able to see has since become a taboo myth. Then two children are born with the gift of sight, with Voss as their guardian.
See season 2
It’s been known for some time that See will get a second season. It received an 88% audience approval score on Rotten Tomatoes, though critics gave it a 43%.
The first season debuted in the fall. And it’s already wrapped up, as this was a limited, eight-episode series. Anyone interested in watching all of it can do so now on Apple TV+, this company’s streaming video service, with a $4.99 monthly subscription.
More about Dave Bautista
Bautista started his entertainment career as a professional wrestler, and has wrestled as recently as 2019.
He began acting in 2006, and credits include the James Bond film Spectre as well as Blade Runner 2049. That’s in addition to his four appearances as Drax in various Marvel movies. If Bautista joins the cast of See next season, this will be his first major television role.
