Two just-released Apple Arcade titles demonstrate the wide variety offerings in this gaming service. The Mosaic is about escaping the dreadful loneliness of modern life, while Monomals features silly animal DJs having a music contest.
Apple also added three other titles to its service, two of which are platformers.
The Mosaic by Raw Fury
The Mosaic’s developers call it a “dark surrealistic and atmospheric adventure game.” Raw Fury’s description says:
“You live a monotonous and repetitive lonely life in a cold overpopulated ever-expanding city. You have no real sense of meaning – until one crucial day, when strange things start to happen on your commute to work and everything changes.”
The Mosaic is available now, exclusively on Apple Arcade.
Monomals by Picomy
On a much lighter note, Monomals invites players to dive into a world of music. Picomay says:
“There’s a big music contest going on amongst the world’s best animal DJs! Armed with a big fishing rod and a plug, go fishing in deep waters to help the DJs catch all the Monomals, and create your very own music in the MonoMaker!“
Monomals launched today in Apple Arcade.
Star Fetched by Crescent Moon Games
Star Fetched is a side-scroller with some tower defense and RPG elements mixed in. The developer, Crescent Moon Games, says:
“A young space-adventurer finds himself teleported to an alien world in a far away solar system. With only his spacesuit and a low-powered gun, he must gather enough resources to build a ship, explore the surrounding planets, and find a way to defend the solar system from certain doom.”
Star Fetched rocketed onto Apple Arcade this morning.
Super Mega Mini Party by Red Games
Super Mega Mini Party is a collection of eight multi-player mini-games.
Apple Arcade subscribers can play them all now.
Jumper Jon by Esteban Duran
The fifth new offering released today is a new take on a metroidvania-style platformer. The developer says:
“Jumper John takes place in hell, where the player will be exploring all the different areas with a mission to find a girl named Jane. Together they will discover what is causing a big imbalance between good and evil on earth.”
Jumper Jon will be released in ten chapters, with only the first available now.
More about Apple Arcade
With today’s additions, there are now 94 titles in this subscription service. Playing any or all of them costs $4.99 a month, and no more — in-app purchases and ads are banned from Apple’s gaming service.
All Apple Arcade offerings are playable on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, with a player’s game state jumping from device to device as they switch. Plus, many titles support Xbox and PS4 controllers, not just touchscreens and keyboards/mice.
