Apple today rolled out watchOS 6.1 after more than a month of beta testing. The update adds support for the brand-new AirPods Pro headphones — out tomorrow.

It also makes watchOS 6 available to Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 owners for the first time.

It has been the best part of six weeks since Apple rolled out its initial watchOS 6 upgrade. The release brought new watch faces, a host of sweet improvements, and brand-new apps.

Apple Watch now boasts its own Calculator, as well as Voice Memos, Noise, and Cycle Tracking. And now earlier Apple Watch owners can enjoy it for the first time.

Today’s watchOS 6.1 update brings Apple’s latest software to Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 for the first time. It also paves the way for AirPods Pro ahead of their official release on Wednesday.

Apple promises “improvements and bug fixes,” too. We’ve already seen a watchOS 6.0.1 update that ironed out some of the teething troubles that were introduced in late September.

You can get your hands on watchOS 6.1 now. With the exception of the original Apple Watch, all models are now supported.

It’s not yet clear if this update addresses the battery life issues some Apple Watch users are still suffering with watchOS 6. We’re hoping it will be more stable than some of Apple’s recent releases, like the iOS 13.2 update that bricked HomePods.

If you’re worried about Watch-breaking bugs, it might be best to wait a few days before installing this release.
