Apple today unleashed AirPods Pro with an all-new design and active noise cancellation. The buds are available to order now ahead of their official debut on Wednesday, October 30.

But they don’t come cheap!

Recent rumors promised AirPods Pro were on the way. And they come with everything we were expecting from pricier Pro models — and a little more.

You get all the features would normally see from AirPods, but in an all-new, lightweight design that promises superior sound quality and the best fit yet.

The best AirPods yet

“AirPods are the best-selling headphones in the world. The one-tap setup experience, incredible sound and iconic design have made them a beloved Apple product, and with AirPods Pro, we’re taking the magic even further,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

AirPods Pro promise an unparalleled wireless audio experience, with features you won’t find in any other buds. They use advanced technology to “reinvent” how people listen to music, enjoy their favorite movies and TV shows, and play games, Apple says.

You will obviously enjoy terrific sound, thanks to an Adaptive EQ that automatically tunes the low- and mid-frequencies of your music to the shape of your ear. Plus a custom high dynamic range amplifier that produces ultra-clear audio.

Apple throws rich bass into the mix, and two microphones that are combined with advanced software to eliminate background noise. AirPods Pro actually listen to the sound around you, then create an equivalent “anti-noise” to cancel it out.

AirPods Pro have it all

AirPods Pro also offer a Transparency mode, which lets you simultaneously listen to music while still hearing some ambient noise. It uses the “pressure-equalizing vent system” to add just the right amount of background sound, Apple says.

The size and performance of AirPods Pro are made possible by Apple’s innovative system-in-package (SiP) design, featuring the H1 chip that powers everything from sound to Siri.

Switching between ANC and Transparency mode is simple, and there’s no need to take your iPhone out of your pocket. Just use AirPods Pro’s new force sensor, built into its stems. It can help you pause and skip tracks, and answer calls, too.

AirPods Pro have Apple’s custom H1 chip at their core. It allows for always-on “Hey Siri,” and it’s incredibly efficient. You’ll get up to five hours of listening time in between charges, and up to 24 hours from the AirPods Pro case, which includes wireless charging.

Another great feature with AirPods Pro is the Ear Tip Fit Test. It helps you get the best audio experience by testing the quality of the seal when AirPods Pro are in your ears, then helping you choose the right tips for the best fit.

“We think customers are going to love this new addition to the AirPods family,” Schiller continued.
