Spotify is giving users an even greater incentive to upgrade to its paid Premium plan. Those who pay $9.99 a month for the service can now enjoy access to Hulu — on top of tens of millions of music tracks.
Spotify has faced increasing competition from rival music streaming services in recent years. Apple Music has become its biggest threat. Its exclusive content and shows have helped it become the largest music service in the U.S.
But that might not last long. Spotify has a big trick up its sleeve to lure in Premium subscribers — and that’s thousands of TV shows and movies on Hulu.
Hulu comes free with Spotify Premium
Spotify has teamed up with Hulu in the past. Its previous deal allowed access to the Hulu basic plan, which is ad-supported, with Spotify Premium for $12.99 a month — saving customers $5 a month.
Now Premium subscribers can forget the additional Hulu fee altogether.
Sign up for Spotify Premium and you will also enjoy the ad-supported Hulu plan at no extra cost. This allows unlimited access to the Hulu library, including original shows, hit movies, and more.
It’s not all good news
There are some caveats. You must be a new Spotify Premium subscriber; existing customers miss out on this deal. And the bundle is only available to customers in the U.S.
If you are an existing customer paying $12.99 a month for this package, however, Spotify is going to reduce your subscription fee to $9.99. You’ll need to switch to Spotify to enjoy the discounted rate if you are currently billed by Hulu.
