Get ready to dive into the lifestyles of the rich and fabulous with a new Apple TV show that just got the green light.

Apple reportedly gave a straight-to-series order for a new docuseries called Home that will explore some of the most extravagant abodes in the world, along with the minds that made them.

The initial order is for 10 episodes that will run about an hour each, according Variety.

The new show Home is being created by Matt Tyrnauer and Corey Reeser of Altimeter Films. Time Inc. Productions and Media Weaver Entertainment are also producers on the project.

Apple is planning to make a big push into original content in 2018 by spending over $1 billion to create TV shows, movies and documentaries for its platforms. The company has already ordered three new series: a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories, a TV show starring Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon, and a sci-fi space drama from the guy behind Battlestar Galactica.

Apple’s status in the tech world could open some interesting doors to amazing houses beyond the usual celebrity and musician fodder you’re used to seeing on MTV Cribs. One can only hope we’ll get a tour of Jony Ive’s mansion or a peek at Jeff Bezos’ estate.

Of course, no official release date or announcement of the show has been made by Apple yet.

  1. This is so stupid. It just reeks of a “focus group” picking something “that has visual appeal to average consumers”. Planet of the apps, now this? I don’t think the people who make these decisions at apple are of the same background/caliber as those at Netflix. They should stick to their strengths, building hardware/software. I mean AirPods, iPhone X, Apple Campus, and HomePod all had delays. Get your house in order before spreading into other markets..

Worse, it wreaks of “look at our marvelous, over the top homes that we spent more than you will make in 10 lifetimes”. Pass. While much of the country is check to check – if they’re lucky – we now have billionaires making shows like this for other millionaires/billionaires.
      It’s just gross.

“One can only hope we’ll get a … peek at Jeff Bezos’ estate.”

With all the Amazon tablets/smart speakers pixelated so that they cannot be identified?
