After watching $17 billion fall off its market value today, it’s still too early for Samsung to laugh about the whole Galaxy Note 7 debacle. But that doesn’t mean we can’t.

This video of a Note 7 return kit, which includes a fire-proof box and gloves, will certainly put a smile on your face.

If you bought your Galaxy Note 7 from a carrier or retail store, returning it is easy. But if you bought yours online, directly from Samsung, it’s a bit more difficult. In the United Kingdom, the Post Office won’t even accept packages that contain the device.

[contextly_auto_sidebar] Fortunately, Samsung has a solution. Its special Note 7 return kit was designed with explosions in mind, and it includes thermally-insulated packaging with a ceramic fiber paper lining, and gloves that ensure you won’t suffer burns while handling the device.

Here’s a peek at the packaging, courtesy of XDA Developers:

It’s a shame the Note 7’s run has ended like this. It was easily the best smartphone Samsung has ever made, and one of the best devices of 2016. But Samsung clearly cannot fix the issue causing some devices to overheat and catch fire, so it has ceased production altogether.

If you still own a Note 7, Samsung has advised that you power it down and return it to wherever you bought it for a refund. And if you happen to see one on sale somewhere, avoid it at all costs and buy something else.

What’s so funny about something being fireproofed or the possibility that someone could get injured in the process? You come across as being a total douchebag as opposed to just reporting the news. Good job.

As a Luddite it amuses me greatly, my Nokia 6210 has never exploded and has a battery that lasts about two weeks, and I can talk all day on it…trying doing either with any ‘Smartphone’…lol

I think it amusing how all the idiots can’t wait to rush and buy the latest piece of technology that marketing tells them they need…all so that they can be a prize prat that has more money than sense, just to beat all the others to the newer model first…

I just think it is hilarious, companies now use their customer base as Quality Auditors and testers, and the mugs pay a fortune for the privilege…the only use for these things now is to sell them to Russia, Putin can drop them on civilians n Syria…

“Easily the best Smartphone has ever made” and “one of the best devices of 2016”. The fact that you would say this makes it clear to me that you are an idiot! You are even saying it in an article about the manufacturer having to send people basically explosive proof packaging to return the product in! What is the matter with you? I don’t care if the phone will cook your dinner and put the dog out at night, there is no feature….NONE ….that redeems a phone that may spontaneously combust! You have no place in any kind of journalism.
