iOS 9.1 brought a whole lot of new emojis, but some users are complaining that it had another unintended consequence too — breaking their Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Posts on Apple’s Support Communities website claim that the recent update either slows down their Touch ID, or in some cases means it even fails to recognize fingerprints altogether.
“The Touch ID was working normally before installing iOS 9.1, then after the restart and after entering low power mode, it stopped working,” writes one user.
Another notes that, “I’m using an iPhone 6s 64GB and upgraded to iOS 9.1 a few days ago. My Touch ID has become very slow or either doesn’t work after several attempts, and I need to input my passcode.”
I haven’t experienced any Touch ID issues myself, but there are enough people on Apple’s support forums that this certainly seems to be a legitimate complaint. Several users claim they’ve tried hard-rebooting their iOS device, but that this has not fixed the problem.
Given that Apple has now released two iOS 9.2 betas, hopefully it won’t be too long before this fault is rectified.

Tacka vet jag 9.2.
Hard reset is not really a valid troubleshooting step. Maybe it’s hardware? Backup and restore as new to see.
I’ve recently had the issue where it failed to recognise my fingerprint the majority of the time, after reading this maybe it was iOS 9.1 that caused the issue. A simple delete of the fingerprint and a rescan seems to have solved it, had the same fingerprint registered for over a year and it suddenly stopped working for the most part.
I’ve had absolutely no problems with iOS9.1 and the fingerprint sensor.
Put it in rice for 7 hours it will solve the problem.
Womp womp
iOS 9.1 breaks my ability to use my fingerprints to log in to various apps. The problem is intermittent and a hard reset fixes the issue.
i tried all steps, still my touch id was not working after update ios 9.1
