With so many Apple Watch configurations to choose from, making your preorder before Apple’s initial stock sells out next month could be difficult if you leave it until the last minute.
But you can choose and save your favorite Watch configuration now for instant preordering later through the Apple’s online store.
We’ve all endured Apple preorder days, and while they may be exciting, they can also be incredibly frustrating.
You either have to stay up late or wake up early, you can guarantee the Apple online wtore will be down more than it’s up, and if you don’t preorder what you want quickly, it will almost certainly sell out — and you’ll be waiting weeks for Apple to get more stock.
To avoid that with Apple Watch when preorders begin April 10, you can pick your favorite configuration in advance.
Simply visit the Apple online store at any time, and select the Watch you want to order. Ensure you pick the right face size and strap, and then click on the heart icon just above the Watch’s name.
You’ll need to sign in with your Apple ID, and the Watch configuration you’ve chosen will then be saved to your account. When it’s time to preorder next month, all you need to do is sign in, confirm the size of the strap you want using Apple’s sizing guide, and check out. Then your Watch should ship April 24.

Oh dear. As someone has already said, pre-orders start on the 10th and go on sale on the 24th.
so are these the only options ? I want the space black watch but I don’t want to pay an additional 500 for a metal band..
The space gray Sport? Well, as far as we can tell, Apple won’t let you swap straps on that model — there is no mention of it anywhere. So, it seems you’re stuck with the silicone strap that comes with it.
If you’re talking about the black stainless steel Watch, then you can get a black metal band with that, but yes, it’s an extra $499, pushing the price up to $1,049 or $1,099, depending on which face size you choose.
As far as I know you can use any band offered as an accessory on any watch with the same size.
You have to be able to swap anyway as the Sport Watches come with two straps S/M and M/L
So yes, my plan is to order the space-grey sport with black band (to use for sport) but add the black leather loop for daily use.
Would be very sad if that turns out to be not possible!
I don’t think they are offering bands separately. I just chatted with a Apple Tech on the Watch page and she told me that the sports in Space Grey is the only sports version that offers the black band. The Apple Watch page says there are 10 models and all 10 are displayed on the page. You can’t swap them around. :( I look for 3rd party bands to pop up pretty quickly.
Just go to their website. All the bands are purchaseable separately. This guy did no research. So just buy the sport and you CAN buy a different band separately.
I cannot find the heart on the Store. I tried the US store and the German store.
