Castello Davarg’s latest hot leather case is the Heming for iPad, an upgraded, redesigned version of its excellent iPhone case. It comes in iPad mini and iPad Air flavors, and is surprisingly full-featured for what looks at fist glance like a plain folio sleeve.
The cases, hand-stitched in Texas, are fashioned from full-grain leather and lined with soft microsuede. The front cover has a protective rigid panel inside, and the back has a nano-sucking pad which sticks the iPad inside by its right half, letting the case bend away on a vertical groove and become a movie-watching stand.
There’s also a sleep/wake magnet, a strong magnetic latch to keep it closed without straps, and cutouts for the camera and even the rear mic.
To say that a lot of thought has gone into this design would be an understatement.
I actually have on in the apartment for testing purposes, and I’ll be running it through its paces this week and next. In the meantime, you can pre-order one on Kickstarter, starting at $76.
