Attention, number crunchers and bean counters! Thanks to an inadvertent slip of the webmaster’s finger, Apple may have just unwittingly revealed the semi-imminent release of Filemaker Pro 13, Apple’s in-house database software for Mac, PC, Web and iPad.
It’s been 20 months since Filemaker Pro 12, but over the weekend, a placeholder page for Filemaker Pro 13 popped up on Apple.co.uk, claiming the new version of the database software will be shipping “within 24 hours.”
Most of the page is still placeholder stuff, but here’s what’s new, according to Macrumors:
Screenshots accompanying the new listings show a new “Share” button in the toolbar, as well as an iOS 7-styled makeover for the FileMaker Go apps for iPhone and iPad. The listings otherwise appear to primarily be placeholders for the time being, using the same box art as their predecessors with the exception of replacing “12″ with “13″. Product descriptions are also fairly generic, lacking any discussion of new features or other details on the upcoming software.
It’ll be interesting to see if Apple does indeed release this software today. The beginning of December does seem a bit like weird timing, but if they want to get Filemaker Pro 13 out in 2013, time is running out.
